1.  What is Forestry Certification?
Forestry certification is a voluntary, market mechanism designed to improve forest management and sustainability globally. The aim is that consumers will select products that come from well managed forests in preference to products from poorly managed forests.

2.  What is Chain of Custody?
Chain of Custody (CoC) Certification provides independent evidence that forest products such as the wood pulp for Kodak Moments thermal receiver paper originate from well managed forests.  This verification process tracks the material through every stage of production to the final product ensuring it remains segregated from uncertified sources.  It empowers consumers, businesses and government departments make informed, sustainable purchasing decisions.

3.  Why have CoC certification?
Chain of Custody certification serves as a vital industry benchmark for organizations involved in the trade of forest-based materials including the thermal receiver paper placed on the market by Kodak Moments. It provides a transparent framework to communicate out commitment to ethical sourcing and environmental stewardship.  Key business reasons include:

•  Meeting Customer Expectations:  Consumers and businesses increasingly demand proof of sustainability, with a strong preference for brands that provide independent verification of their eco-claims.
•  Market Access and Procurement:  Larger corporations and government departments often have strict procurement policies that require or prefer FSC-certified products to satisfy their own sustainability goals.
• Regulatory & Consumer Trends:  There is significant consumer and regulatory interest in the circular economy and zero-deforestation.

4.  What is FSC®?
The Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) is an international network dedicated to promoting the responsible management of the world’s forests. Established in 1993, it provides the framework for certifying timber and paper products to ensure they meet rigorous environmental and social standards. FSC is the primary benchmark for the pulp and paper industry, ensuring that materials used in products like thermal paper are sourced without contributing to deforestation. Research shows the FSC program has successfully improved forest conditions by protecting High Conservation Value areas and maintaining forest biodiversity more effectively than non-certified forests. Globally, more than 173 million hectares of forest in 89 countries are certified according to FSC® standards and over 69,000 companies have FSC® Chain of Custody certification. 5.  How does this affect Kodak Moments?
Implementing successful chains of custody rely on everybody in the company’s supply chain taking responsibility for maintaining the integrity of the chain to our customers and thereby to the end-users. Kodak Moments currently purchases all its thermal paper receiver Master Rolls (at KMC) or Finished Goods (EMEA) from Felix Schoeller in Germany. This supplier has FSC® Certification (TUEV-COC-000014-005) which is 3^rdparty verification that ensures the pulp used in our thermal papers originates from well-managed and sustainable forests. Our Global CoC Manager checks the status of their certificate periodically. 

All Kodak Moments thermal receiver sold around the world is FSC® certified. SCS Global Services (our certification body), audit us annually to ensure we are managing our Chain of Custody correctly, keeping records of purchases and sales and using the logos on and off products appropriately.  It also ensures that the certified material is never mixed with the uncertified material during the production process.

Kodak Moments Thermal Media Business is managed from the USA and our labor laws for FSC are governed by the Company’s Business Operations worldwide from Kodak Alaris LLC.

I can confirm that Kodak Alaris does not seek to actively employ people under the age of 18.  In addition, we follow federal, state/provincial, and local laws across the world if considering hiring minors, i.e. 15-18 years of age.  Our global HR Departments check the ID of all employees upon hire to ensure these policies are enforced; for example, I-9 forms in the USA.

 

Finally, the Company does not prohibit the right to collective bargaining and for employees to join worker organizations anywhere in the world.
